Mate of mine owns part of leg of this lad. He’s had four starts, the last one on Boxing Day, so resumes after a 225 days break in this after having a bone chip in a knee removed. Waller’s got five entered in this, so best beware, but Choccy has trialled up nicely and has made progress during the break. Won’t want it too soft, but worth an EW go in this at $14.

Resumed from a 293 day spell a month ago with a nice finish into third at Canberra and drops back to the BM64 today. Would like to see here jump a bit better, because she does have a very good finish in her armoury. Good form at the distance, will have taken benefit from the resuming run and rates a great value bet at $23.

Sweysive is very consistent and resumed from a 138 day lay-off having won two trials on soft and heavy going under Zac Lloyd, but ran last after being prominent early. Frontrunner who will be suited back at the 1250m, fitter from that run and good stats at the distance, on the soft and under Josh Parr (6:2-3). Open betting race, value at $10, can give them something to catch…

The two runs this spell have been too short for him really, so back up to the mile will improve his chances in this, especially as he also possesses a decent finish. Jockey’s placed 4 from 4 on him, good distance and going stats, bit of a sleeper as the #4 outsider…
