Two very close seconds including a big odds placing…
Two seconds from our four yesterday, and so close to a $51 winner!
Despite his lack of recent form, we noted his good stats over the distance and drop in grade. He got up on the pace and looked the winner for a long way until he got collared inside the last 100m by the fav, beaten a long neck, but paying a fabulous $10.60 the place. We anchored him to win in the trifecta with the field-field option for 25%, it paid almost $2K, if he’d won I reckon we’d have picked up $2K!!
Hayai Mesu was also excellent on return, running second fav, also nabbed by the fav by a nose, paying $1.60 the place.
Thirteen from the book in the midweeks today, with tips in all the late Sandown qadi races, have a go!

Noted finishing well in March at Counties then raced twice here without threatening. Trialled up here last month and has won previous trials here. Can go close if ready at $13…

We spruiked up WS two back and he was backed in when finishing a close third at this track, distance, grade and jockey. Jasmine’s back onboard today so rate him a great EW shot at $9.
Takeiteasy likes the heavy but done nothing in the last two. Jockey has placed two from three onboard, up in grade today but will need to improve, $21 on offer…

Former Kiwi now with Maher/Eustace, noted screaming home for an impressive win at the Bool 5 weeks ago, followed that up with another impressive run from last for a close fourth and earning a next-time tag for this. Up in grade but gets B Melham up top, today’s sleeper at $12.

Looks like a race in two here, with Boldinho running a close second last time under Celine G. Kah jumps on today again for the ME stable, after riding him to a trial win previously, and is backable at $3.80/$1.80 on 365.

Kiwi who debuted in Aussie 3 weeks ago without making an impression. Very consistent in NZ but needs to lift as $26 outsider.

Fire possess great stats for this on resuming, Jye is 2 from 2 up top, and though returning from a break presents here as the $2.40 fav, hard to beat. EF back from a break also, generally gets back in the run so will need to get closer over the shorter 1000m today. EW at $10.

She displayed some fabulous form in 2021, running top two in nine consecutive races, but hasn’t gone on with it. Interest only at $26.

Sebonack noted winning with some style on debut, and has run in some handy races since. Resumes after running second in a trial 2 weeks ago as $4/$1.75 second fav.
