Oh, no, Mikki…
It was a tough watch for our sole tip yesterday in Oh No Mikki…
He jumped well but just knuckled over as he came out of the gates, and while he does tend to go back, he took a bit too long to steady, and it cost him the win in the end, his rousing finish to no avail as he ran three quarters of a length from the winner. With a touch more luck, he’ll win the next one…
Seven for the midweeks, and some definite winning prospects!
The midweek’s Magnificent Seven…
ROYAL FOX
Sandown, 4
Perennial backmarker resuming after three months. Needs to be a lot closer in the run as he is very capable of that late charge. Tidy first-up form (5:2-1), tough ask for him to roll this odds-on fav, but worth an EW shot at $11.

TEXAS TEA, JESTA DREAMA
Sandown, 7
TT is ex-Kiwi and returns after a 536 day break. His three runs in Aus produced a third and a win, but on the face of it this 1400m is short of this favoured 2000m+ and he’ll need the run, but good to see him back on course and sure there’s more wins to come, $18 on offer.
JD had a fine string of form last year but hasn’t gone on with it this year, tending to get back in the run without the finish. Got some tidy stats for this, resumed two weeks ago at $151 and finished on well to get within 2.7 lengths of the winner, making the extra 200m here a positive, EW at $26.

AND WE DANCED
Warwick Farm, 6
Former Waller runner now with new stable, returned from a 15 month spell, running nicely in her lead-up trials. We fancied her to win on resumption at Wagga 6 weeks ago and she duly obliged even after a betting drift. Up in grade here but can go on with it, backable EW as the $4.40/$1.90 co-fav.
BET: 5 units ew
LITTLE RICH BOY
Balaklava, 6
On the three day back-up, tried to lead all the way on Sunday over the 1200m at Clare and just got run down on the line. Back to 1050m today suggests he’ll be very hard to run down this time as $2.90 fav in this field. Should win.
BET: 10 unit win
WINNING ACES
Belmont, 2
Better run three weeks back at Ascot as he ran third at SP $16. Jockey has a good record up top, has won second-up and not out of it here as a $13 shot.
BET: 3 units ew
ALLEGIANCE
Belmont, 4
Proving hard to catch, just the one win plus ten placings from her 32 runs. Drops back to the mile today and will go round at big odds again, $34 on offer.
BET: 2 units ew
