Back for the midweeks…

Back into the midweeks after a rare day off with seven from the book…

Seven for the midweeks…

Millefiori

Riccarton R6

Rarely far away without winning, back to her fav distance and gets the gun apprentice up top but she needs to lift to make the frame, $10 shot.

Our Man Stan

Riccarton R9

Missed out on a run recently and his win at Riccy in November was astonishing with a huge run from last to get up. Very consistent only missed the frame once in seven runs and will relish the give in the ground. $5 fav here, has trialled up nicely and ready to fire.

Hayai Mesu

Murray Bridge R6

Only one win in 33 but regular placegetter, but she’s fallen away last few runs, and will need to improve to figure. Back to 1400m will suit is she can get away cleanly, $19 on offer, but this fav looks like a shoo-in back in grade.

BET: 3 units ew, exotics behind Headphones

Crickets Chirping

Ipswich R6

Ex-NZ and she had late support when getting up for us on the Gold Coast in December. Mallyon stuck 18 days ago when up in grade but she faded late to run last at Eagle Farm. $15 on offer, don’t discount…

Call Him Iggy, Ersa

Sandown R7

Small field, and we’ve got two in this…

Call Him Iggy’s two wins from his first two runs were impressive before he headed to a BM70 at Flem. Went for a break before a third and a sixth, both close, and resumed in December from a 175 day break, swooping late to get up for us at nice odds. Up in grade and distance two weeks later at Geelong in a big race, running a close fourth and we fancied him to feature 18 days ago and he finished fast for fifth after getting back, so the move up to the mile looks inviting. $7 shot, but again, this fav Enxuto looks hard to beat with B Shinn onboard.

Ersa’s nine length win to break maidens in October last year was top notch and has run in G1 and G3 company since before running two close seconds at the end of last prep. Resumed after 192 days, and she cruised up in the last 200m to win nicely for in early December then a close second on Boxing Day, both at the Heath. Down in grade 25 days ago and up to the mile seemed a plus but she faded late after leading for much of the way. Worth another chance with Mickey Dee up top, $8.50 on offer.

BET: Can try 4 unit win on these two, but exotics seems the way to got, including the fav…

Araletta

Sandown R8

Spotted her after a trial at Pak in April, with trainer Peter Moody spruiking her up, suggesting she was gonna break maidens soon, rating her as a city class filly. She ran second, if a touch greenly, but we fancied more to come, and she resumed in December from a 236 day spell after some good jump-outs, and she duly obliged with a dominant display. Backed that up on NY Day, swooping late to win for us. Finished well for third 14 days ago and while she’s up in grade she gets J Stanley up top and she hasn’t missed the first three in seven runs. Can continue that run as an $11 shot here in an open betting race.
