4/4
Four from four yesterday, with a winner, a third and two seconds.
We weren’t offering too much hope about Jalmari but he sprinted home like a two year old for only his second win in 42 races, and I can’t even tell you when the last one was! Even the commentator was blown away!
The $7.30 was an unexpected bonus…
Ten from the book on a busy midweek, and lots to like!
Midweek Top Ten…

Sandown R2
3:45pm
Noted three weeks ago when seemingly trapped but flying home to register an eye-catching win. The rise to 2400m looks do-able, even though he’s up in grade, and he warmed up for this with a trial win last week, E Brown a nice booking, goes close in this small field at $3.30.
BET: 10 unit win

Another recent addition to the blackbook, noted two weeks ago winning by 5 lengths under Froggy, and another stepping up in distance, chance at $11.

His last-to-first win in Feb was followed by three decent runs in higher races. Two decent trials in August will have him ready to roll, though would like to see him over further, $6 on offer…

He’s a tough customer, back after a seven week break, has won in the grade and also BM82, the $15 looks generous, sleeper in this…

LC recently re-located from Chris Waller’s NSW stable to his Queensland stable, and looking for drier tracks. A valiant effort a month ago on the heavy for third, he’ll was better suited three weeks ago on the firmer ground and back to the 1400m when he settled in a nice position and took up the lead on the final bend, and when the challenges came, he was headed but fought back brilliantly to win his maiden as $2.90 fav. Ben Thompson jumps on today, and while up to 1700m, trainer is confident he’ll be there at the death now he knows where the line is, $8.50 on offer.
WB not doing enough this prep, hence the $81…

Resumes from a four and a half month break, form prior was good till he hit the soft track at Doomben, and he gets his favoured firm footing today (8:3-1-0). Trialled up OK last week, has won first-up, we reckon he’s a great EW bet in this at $12…

Belmont R4

Back from a five month break, has won first-up, is 3:1-1-0 here. Might be a touch short for him but he has won from the front before… Keeping him safe at $23 though…

The win to clear maiden ranks two weeks ago could not have been more impressive when he went in the book. He jumped well back but produced an astonishing burst of acceleration as he eventually walked in in a big field at Pinjarra. CJP sticks, so do we at $3.30.
BET: 10 unit win
