Backmarker who’s hard to follow resuming today after 143 days. Decent first-up stats and has won over this shorter distance but feel he’ll be needing this as the $41 outsider…

Noted in October, very smart winning from the back on debut at Tauranga after winning a trial and heading straight back to the paddock. Resumed under Waller with a couple of tidy runs before going at Kembla 19 days in the G3 Classic , where she never emerged from the back of the field. This is no G3, and with Berry up top, she rates a great EW punt at $10 here today, she’ll be dropping in late…

ANG POW, BALTIC COAST

AP’s early form was sensational, and he’s just starting to improve this prep after a couple of last placings in her first two runs at Randwick. Finished fast from a long way back 18 days ago at Gosford at big odds and drops significantly in grade here. He’s 2:2 on the track, 2:2 at the distance and Keagan Latham is one from one up top, so we really like the $19 on offer. Ready to strike, easy EW bet.
Interestingly, Latham jumps off Baltic Coast to ride AP but gets the very able Tim Clark onboard. Spaces his wins out, but capable on his day, he’s won here, at the distance and also second-up. He’s also a $19 shot and also noted with a fast finish 11 days ago at Kembla.

COOL ENCOUNTER, FORTIFIED

Two very solid runs on resuming for CE, he has a good finish and the push out to the mile will suit today plus the slight drop in grade. Never missed the frame on soft, no-brainer EW at $6.50…
Fortified resumes from a 7 month spell, a bit so-so prior, does have some stats around him, but this looks like a tune-up for him, $26 on offer…

TARA JASMINE
Doomben, 8
Another perennial backmarker, she’s been struggling since she ran a big second for us on New Year’s Day. Up in grade, and $51 outsider here, hard to recommend on recent form…

FOXY FEMME
Murray Bridge, 4
Noted winning on debut at Gawler 16 months ago and hasn’t missed the top five in eight career runs. Resumes from a 165 day spell, trialled up three weeks ago for second, and Dom Tourneur sticks, he’s 6:0-5 onboard. She’ll need to be handier in this 900m dash for cash, but can just about back her EW at $3.80/$1.70.
