We were pretty bullish about JITB’s chances on Saturday after a nice win when well-supported at Wanganui, and while he was prominent early he couldn’t finish it off up in the higher grade and over the 2200m. Drops back a bit here, and backing up after only four days suggests he’ll go better today. Jess Allen sticks, fav will be hard to beat as she moves nicely through the grades, so EW on our lad at $7. QS was also prominent in her run 25 days ago at Te Rapa but couldn’t see it out either. Has potential, best form on heavy but needs to lift, $15 on offer.

We had some EW hopes about him 21 days ago at this T&D and on this going, his one win from 29 hardly encouraging, but we know he does have a big finish in him, and he produced it again to come from stone last and get up at a very nice $12 for us. Moves up to the C2 grade now, which is hardly black type, so let’s hope he’s got the idea now and can push on with it, certainly attractive at the $19 mark, so let’s be bold!!
