A G2 curiously wedged into this meeting, with our lad fronting up after Monday’s abandoned meeting at Te Rapa… The fav looks hard to beat, but EGB led all the way for a nice win on debut at Taupo 19 days ago, a touch green but nevertheless a win, can’t knock him for that… Wozza jumps on today, can’t see why he won’t improve for the run, but it is a big jump from maidens to G2. We’ll keep him safe though, at $31…

Won his first four before a very close-up fourth in the BM94 25 days ago. Loves the distance (4:3-0) and Schiller is 2:2 up top, down in grade, hard to beat in this as $1.80 fav.

Won her last two last prep, resumes from a four month break and has won both trials recently, looks ready to resume with a win, $4.20 on offer.

Noted with a stunning win from last a month ago to make it two in a row. Up to G3 14 days ago with a fast-finishing second, the rise to 2400m looks ideal and Jaylah sticks. He’s $5.50 second fav and looks bound to make the frame at least.

Only one win in 25 to her name and did nothing on resuming 19 days ago but has decent second-up stats (4:1-2), placed 6 from 7 at the distance and jockey placed 3 from 4 onboard. Easier grade, EW bet at $5.50 in an open race…

Went in the book late last month, with the comment “Absolutely rattled home, next time over longer” but didn’t live up to that hype at Gawler two weeks later. We fancied her 14 days ago when up to the mile, and she duly obliged this T&D. Winning jockey sticks, value at $7.50, can push on though would prefer a bit of give in the ground…

Had an intermittent career to date and flew home for a very encouraging third on resuming, then ran a close sixth on the Sunny Coast 26 days ago. Gets back but has a finish so the push out to 1350m will suit, another to watch for late, $9 on offer.

Thought he’d turned the corner with a nice second here two back, and the drop in grade and rise to 1400m here 19 days ago seemed to be his chance but he led then faded late. Back to 1200m and gets D Pires up top, can give them something to chase down, $10 on offer.
