Impressive when winning on debut in Feb, followed by a close second before failing at Riccy when up to the 1400m in March. Resumed 17 days ago having trialled quietly, probably needing the run but ran a decent sixth only two lengths away from the winner this T&D. B Grylls hops on, $6.50 on offer in a very open betting race…

Did nothing on resuming three weeks ago but has a tidy second-up and distance record (both 2:1-0-1). Back in grade, needs to find earlier career form but the Maher stable are very capable, so keep him safe at $21.

BL’s last-to-first win in Feb was followed by three decent runs in higher races. Two decent trials in August had him tuned up for his return three weeks ago here, but as suspected, the 1000m was a bit short, though he ran a reasonable seventh. Better suited at this distance, gets B Melham up top and we expect him to be right in the finish today, $11 a juicy price, he’ll be powering home late…

Tactfull resumes from a three month break and will need this as $101 outsider…

We’ve got three in this one, two of them very much live chances…

BS gets the Jones/Gollan combo and resumes from a five month break having won a recent trial. All round stats are excellent, easy EW at $6.

SO resumed last month, and needed the run, but came out 18 days ago and won well at Gold Coast. Another Gollan horse, career record is 6:4-0-0, must go close at $5.

Stan needed the resuming run late August, and will probably need a couple more… Well-related gelding, $46 on offer.

BET: BS and SO 5 units ew, Stan 2 units ew, exotics for sure…

Has been going OK this prep, rarely far away, and though she’s switched stables, Peter Moody was very keen on her when he had her. Fav distance, JGC won on her three back and the last run fourth, another very open betting race, she’ll be finishing on late up to the 1400m, EW at $9.50.
