Back with a one-hit wonder winner!!
Back with a bang!
Well, a small but nice bang, as our one-hit wonder bank-breaker in Shuri (10 unit win) wore down the runaway leader, albeit at short odds of $1.90. You can go buy back the farm now, and bank the profit…
We hit the midweeks with twelve from the book today, including a couple of $126 shots!! Let’s have a look!!
A dozen from the midweek book…
DAY LIGHT, LA OPCION
Invercargill, 4
Couple of roughies to kick us off… DL needed the resuming run a month ago at Gore after over a year away and will strip fitter for that. Gets Weatherley up top, and she finished last prep with three close placings before that big stint in the paddocks, likes it wet and should enjoy the mile, $21 on offer. LO similarly needed her run on the same day, though her previous form not quite as good, $31 on offer here.
BET: DL 3 units ew, LO 2 units ew, they would certainly spice up the exotics…
EYE SPY, SHAZZA
Invercargill, 7
ES impressed hugely with the maiden win back in June, but failed to follow that up in two subsequent runs. Returns from a 75 day spell, C Campbell sticks, might need this one but prepared to give her a chance at $13. Shazza’s only win was 16 months ago, when she simply ran away from them at Oamaru, and again, has failed to follow that up with any kind of form, interest only at $34…
BET: ES 3 units ew, Shazza, 2 units ew, exotics?
CHICO SONADO, TACTFULL
Sandown, 6
CS was gritty on debut, hanging on for a long neck win in April, followed it up with a last at Pak before heading to the paddock for 230 days. Resumes in a small field as a $5 shot, winning jock Mott back up top and if he gets to the front, could take some catching…
Tactfull was better on resuming with a second at Mornington 17 days ago, and C Hefel sticks, so don’t risk at $9.
BET: Exotics best value-wise in a small field… both to win.
JESTA DREAMA
Sandown, 8
He was in fine form early last year, stringing five win/placings together in and around this grade before a 260 day spell. Resumed earlier this year with three nothing runs in higher grades before another 245 day spell in the paddock. Undoubtedly has talent, 1200m here may be a tune-up, $126 on offer would certainly make him our biggest winner!
BET: 3 units ew, why not?
MANDALORIAN
Warwick Farm, 7
And while we’re on $126 shots, here’s another one resuming… might just try a $10 multi with Jesta!
BET: 2 units ew
EFFORTKAT
Balaklava, 6
The solid form of early this year has dissipated somewhat, has had success first-up but interest really at $41.
BET: 2 units ew
SIR SIMON
Launceston, 6
Good track stats, but hey, it’s Tassy, so they all boast them… frontrunner who got run down last time out, not sure he can keep the fav out at $3.50 but looks a good quinella.
BET: 5 units win, 10 unit quinella with fav.
PLAINLY SPOKEN
Bunbury, 2
Hard to enthuse, $7 on offer…
BET: 2 units ew
BLAZING TYCOON
Bunbury, 8
Pops up occasionally for us but does get back early, so the drop back to 1200m not very appealing… $8.50
BET: 2 units ew
