Race in two here by the look of it, and it’s our two… Both showed excellent form last prep and resumed from 5-6 month breaks and should dominate this as almost co-favs around the $2.30 mark.

BET: Hard to split them, so 10 unit quinella

Trobriand, Ridgeview Chief

Trobriand’s early career form was top notch, not missing the top four in ten runs, including G1-G3 form. Didn’t kick on with it last prep earlier this year, and resumes today with a couple of trials under his belt and Owen Patrick up top (6:2-3) so expect a bold showing as $4.60 second fav, especially down in this grade…

Ridgeview Chief tends to space his best efforts out, resumed this prep in May after 578 days away, and hasn’t shown much, at $34 he’ll need to show some decent improvement to figure here…

Our insider tips are coming thick and fast this week, so keep an eye out! Mr Vivaci made a bright start to his career at Ballarat 13 days ago, beaten by a smart one in Federer, but he had the rest well covered. Stable are very bullish about his chances today, will settle him midfield and let him charge home as per his debut, the extra 100m suits, Mertens sticks for Waller, should be winning as $2.25 fav.

Eye Pea Oh

Warwick Farm R4

Can’t help thinking she’s better than her form suggests… All wins have come on a soft track and she’s 10:2-2 at this distance. Has faded late in her last two runs over 1300m, so the drop back to the 1100m today should assist, especially if they ride here a touch more conservatively and save her up for one last effort. Worth an EW go at $8 in this.
