Another Hall of Famer…

Another one for the Hall of Fame as we spruiked Capital Girl (5 units ew) to relish the step up to the mile, making use of her big finish back to this grade, and despite the drift in betting, she proved us right with a sustained run to get up by a nose at a very juicy $11.20/$2.70…

Rule of Time couldn’t keep out the fav in what we called a two horse race, running second at $1.90…

We’ve got twelve from the book as we hit the midweeks…

Twelve from the midweeks…

MR MONDELLO

Matamata, 2

Noted finishing well in March at Counties then raced twice at Avondale without threatening. Trialled up last month and has placed here. Needed the resuming run two weeks ago, and wasn’t too far off, chance today at $11.

BET: 4 units ew

LUXURIANT

Matamata, 3

Too far back last time at Cambridge, and is proving a bit costly… $4 in a small field.

BET: 4 unit win

TIDAL RUSH, TAKEITEASY

Matamata, 8

These two haven’t been showing much recently, $5 and $13 in this field, maybe EW…

BET: Both 2 units ew

BOLDINHO

Sandown, 5

Back to the BM64, and no downgrade in jockey C Gaudray hopping on. Got a good finish in him and can convert those last two seconds into a win here as $2.60 fav.

BET: 10 unit win

AMATI, GIRL

Sandown, 6

Fantastic finish in Feb to get up at Ballarat and has contest G1, 2 and 3 races since, all at odds. Resumes after 5 months, the 1300m might be a touch short, so Johnny Allen will need to have her closer in the run than her usual pattern, if so she can feature late in this at $7. Girl also dropping back in grade, good stats at this distance and under Jye, can also make the frame here at $11 mark.

BET: Amati 4 units ew, Girl 3 units ew, exotics…

LUNA CAT

Sandown, 7

Back to midweek racing after some close efforts on Saturdays in higher grades. Gaudray also aboard here, and after the big finish=in her last race, she rates a good EW chance here at $8.

BET: 5 units ew

KIBOSH

Warwick Farm, 1

Her early career was impressive, not missing the first two in nine runs. Runs since have been reasonably competitive without threatening. Up in grade in a small open betting event, EW shot at $8.50.

BET: 5 unit win

DRIFT NET

Warwick Farm, 3

Filly on debut, comes with a reputation so watch the betting moves here. $4.20 shot at the moment, could be worth following.

BET: 5 unit win

HA SHE

Strathalbyn, 4

Bit plain on resuming, has form second up, EW shot at $23.

BET: 5 units ew

DR COPPER

Strathalbyn, 7

Good late finish three weeks back, the extra distance could help, but he’ll need it as the $81 outsider.

BET: 2 units ew
