We spruiked Shuri up to bounce back yesterday after a couple of ordinary runs, and she looked the winner for a long way down the straight until getting nicked at the line, after backed in to close to favouritism from an overnight price of $7. Next-timer for sure, and firmer the better…
Donation just got too far back, we were a bit concerned about the drop back to the 1100m as she finishes so well, which he did yesterday into fifth, and can’t help thinking that a push out to maybe 1400m will be the answer to getting this lad back in the winners’ circle. Watch this space…

Back on the flat and back to 2100m after half a dozen goes over the hurdles without any success. Gets back early and hasn’t shown anything late in the piece for some time, so hard to be enthusiastic about his chances in this as $151 outsider… interest bet only…

Magnetic Prince
Sandown R7
Big effort on-pace from Magnetic Prince, resuming at massive odds from a 209 day break at start of May. Looked like the winner for a long way but was still strong to the line to run a close fourth, and marked as a next-timer, but faded late 32 days ago on the Hillside track after being prominent. The drop to the 1200m should suit his forward race pattern and the young apprentice gets him some decent weight relief today. Worth another EW punt at $18.

Consistent without delivering the win of late, but significantly, he’s back on good going which was the ground he won on last, this time last year. Worth another chance at $5 on the 6 day back-up…

Suited in both distance and ground last two but probably a touch out of her grade, but prior form was sound, she likes this distance and footing and represents some value at $34, however, this fav looks a shoo-in at $2.

Just the one win from 18 but he’s got a very good finish on him so we’re particularly interested in his rise to the 2112m here today. Close third at Morks on the heavy just 18 days ago, fav jockey in Emily Finnegan sticks, and down on grade for this, all points to a big finish late on, $.20 fav so get on now!
