The Year ran a resuming sixth three weeks back behind Saturday’s big winner Getafix, he’s 2:1-0 second-up and looks sure to feature n this at $7.50.

WET’s two wins in Sept/Oct caught the eye but had two slow starts this prep, but improved third up at Scone, and he never looked like being headed once he hit the front. Down in grade a month ago, he sat off-pace and coming round the final bend, he didn’t look to be going that well, but found a bit more to surge late and get up by the narrowest of margins, defying the betting drift out to $8.50 in this grade. @;2 at the distance, ticks a lot of boxes at $8…

Going OK without winning this prep, has won twice here and twice over the distance, appreciates the give in the ground, EW shot at $14.

Barber, Compelling Truth, Midnight In Tokyo

Grafton Race 7

Three in this very open race and Barber leads the field at $5 dropping back from G3, shapes as a threat.

Compelling Truth as won three of his last four, the only miss was in the Ortensia, and he stormed home at big odds for us a month back, must go in at $6, Wheeler is 4:4 up top.

MIT was just behind Barber in is last race and also rates EW here, though would prefer some give in the ground, $11 on offer.
