Close second…
Spirit of Pluto (4 units ew, $1.60 place) finished well but couldn’t quite catch the runaway winner.
We were hoping that Lolarosie could be restrained in the run but she just ran away with the apprentice, getting out to a 10 length lead, but the 1400m proved too far as she weakened to run last. Really suited by the shorter distances, so we’ll keep an eye open for her next time…

OP jumps onboard here, just missed in a small field here three weeks ago, ready to win as $2.30 fav, and should win.

Down in grade, and two placings in her last three have her a chance in this at $4.60.

DESTINATION
Canterbury, 5
Destination resumes after five months and presents with good stats for this. Won at this grade late last year and this is the easiest race he’s contested since then. $8 shot worth following here. Cool Lad is in fine form this prep with a win and three placings in his last four. He’s up in grade but another EW shot at $15.

Did nothing on resuming, previous form would have her competitive here and has decent second up form. Value at $18.

SWEYSIVE, LEGAL CHALLENGE

Sweysive is a frontrunner, dominant in winning two out the last three, both with Josh Parr onboard. Even betting race and she’s a real chance at $5.50. LC noted with interest late June on resuming with an eyecatching fifth, after being in the paddock for 22 months. Originally caught the eye in July two years ago with a stunning win from last and followed up with some close runs at Goulburn before heading off. Trialled twice before not too far off them at Warwick Farm a week ago, EW long shot at $21.

Been a while since he won, but a couple of placings this prep get him in contention here, and though up in grade, gets his fav jockey up top. EW at $17.

MORE LIKELY, ALLEGIANCE
Belmont, 6
ML got up as a short fav for us 17 days ago to clear maidens at race number four, EW here at $9. Allegiance only one win in 25, has been struggling.
