Just the two yesterday, and the one we expected to win in June Bug ran out of steam from the final bend. However, our long wait for Mormaire (5 units ew) to return to the winner’s stall ended with a dominant win as the Per Incanto mare took control 300m out and won well, paying $4.80/$2.70.

Resumed 18 days ago as fav at MV, running a close third, just weakening late and she’ll have taken a lot from the run. Her record actually better than it reads, thanks to two disqualifications during the Billy Pinn débâcle mid-year, and the booking of Ms Kah suggests she’ll be too good for this lot as $2.15 fav.

After two placings at odds for us to start this prep, we were bullish about his chances 11 days ago at the Valley when back in grade, but he never got into the race and ran a disappointing last. Prepared to forgive that run, the apprentice knocks 3 kgs off, and that makes him an EW prospect in this at $15, watch for him late…

Returning from a 20 week spell but has tuned up with a couple of trials. Form prior was solid, has run well at this grade and distance and placed both times first-up. Frontrunner who’s back in grade and distance and is today’s sleeper at $15, gets Hippo up top, don’t dismiss!

Hard to ignore three wins in a row, on-pacer dropping back in distance, 2:2 on the heavy, gets Jimmy Orman up top, what’s not to like? $3.30 second fav in a small field, can take this fav out.

Returns to this T&D and grade from her second here 10 days ago, we fancied her then and same applies today. $3.50 second fav, go again!

Spaces his wins out but capable on his day. Not sure what happened two runs back but better last time at this distance, Pires hops back on and he should be thereabouts, $8 on offer.

Pires stays onboard for us here, with SS looking for the hat-trick. Another front-runner who’s had success here, $7.50 makes him a great EW punt.

Froggy comes down for a few rides today, hoping to get this gelding back on track. Better that his resuming run last time out and drops in grade for this open betting event, $5 second fav, will be saved up for a run late.

Finally gave us win number two on New Year’s Eve, when she just he just took off and gave ‘em a spanking at a glorious $16.30/$4.40 for us. Same class and grade, same jockey, and she can handle the softer ground, then why not? $9 on offer, we go again!
