Two seconds, two fourths…
So close to pulling off our place Yank yesterday, with two seconds and two fourth from our four tips…
Gold Tracker was the eye-opener, almost tailed off at the start of the race, he bolted home to run second at $1.80 just a long neck away. He was $19 to win when we tipped him yesterday, but a couple of scratchings and some healthy support saw him drop in price rapidly. We suggested this might be a touch short for him, as did his trainer, and he’ll be out over longer for sure next time up, and he’ll be a very close watch!
Donation was a bit better away and also finished stoutly for second at $1.90, no doubt there’s a win in the offing for him.
Ditterich was prominent but faded late for fourth, and Royal Fox did his usual trick of finishing late from the back, unfortunately the ace draw had him tucked up on the fence and Noonan struggled to find air in time and he flashed home for fourth, just missing by a head…
Three from the book today, all at Ballarat, and all in the late qadi, so include them. A hotpot fav, a certain EW shot and an outrageous $61 shot…

He’d been threatening to win after three close runs this prep and he duly obliged 25 days ago this T&D with a big 6 length victory under B Mertens, don’t see why he doesn’t do it again here as $1.65 fav!

On the quick 4 day back-up three weeks ago this T&D, and they had him favourite, and while we needed him to jump well, he did, but settled back and flew home late for second. Another with good T&D and class stats, getting closer to a win, and this could be it, $6 on offer.
