Couldn’t quite make our third Boomshanka in a row, but it was close!
Our one-hit wonder in Fiorente Spritz (5 units ew, exotics) gave us a real run for our money yesterday with a fine on-pace performance, looking the winner halfway down the straight. Ran third less than a length off the winner paying $3.50 the place, and contributing to a $2200 trifecta if you managed to find the other two…
We’ve got four from the book today, all with a great chance of making the frame, giving us some opportunity for an EW Yankee, and a real shot at the late Vic qadi!

Spruiked up and won at Swan Hill in October, sprinting home well over the 975m. Tried the same trick at the Valley three weeks later when up in grade, but that’s not the place to try that tactic, but he did well to run fourth. He’s paid us plenty, even in higher grades than this, and though his form early this prep was a little sketchy, he finished like a train from near the back last time out to run third at Echuca on M Cup day. Sticks at the BM58, fav jockey H Coffey jumps onboard (8:3-2), picking he’s back to his best and can salute here as the $3.80 c0-fav.

INDIFFERENCE
Tamworth, 1
Spruiked him up 16 days ago at Armidale after he needed the resuming run, and he duly blew ‘em out the water by nearly 5 lengths. Up to the mile where he’s not had the best of results, but we think he’d ready for it today as the $1.35 fav.

Albury, 3
Lightly raced gelding who returns after almost a year, and ran third in a recent trial. Went in the book in Oct last year with a fast finish at Ballarat for second. Presents back to the 1400m where he’s placed four from four, and gets Nick Heywood up top, so deserves some attention at $4.00
