Royal Fox, dead last all the way, 10 lengths back at the 400m, not even in the picture with 200m to go, wins by nearly 2 lengths…
We spruiked him yesterday, thinking he’d need to be closer in the run, but this was an astonishing performance… 4 units ew, pays $8.10/$2.50…

We needed him closer to the pace last time out at Goulburn, where he’d previously finished well for second. Jockey got it spot on, and he finished over the top of them to win handsomely. Up a touch in grade, and back to the 1200m, but a repeat of that performance should see him home here as the $3.20 fav. Van Overmeire sticks.

He was an eye-catcher on resuming at Swan Hill but he’s been a touch inconsistent since. Last start he flew the gates but weakened to last over the 975m, maybe he’s another who needs a conservative ride, but at the 1000m mark, you can’t get too far back. Will need to be good to get past this hot fav, but worth a small EW bet and including in the exotics…

Looks like a race in two, but I reckon our fella has his hoof on the till… They should be riding him more positively out of the gate today. Stats are top notch, loves the AWT, I think this is his day at $3.10 in this small field.

His good form last prep hasn’t quite carried though, but he has been close in most runs this time in. Has very good stats at this track, and steps up to the 1400m for the first time in a while, may need to be ridden a touch more conservatively today. Don’t discard him just yet as a $31 shot, he’s capable…

Returns from a 3 month spell and has placed first up. Fav jockey J Kehoe sticks.. Might need it softer but this is the front-running mare’s distance. EW at $26
