He’s better than his two last place finishes this prep at G1 and G2, and the move back up to the 2000m here will suit if he can settle. Jockey has been onboard on both wins, and he’s worth an EW punt at a juicy $17.

Gritty win on debut and added to it next time plus a couple of placings at G1 and G2. Resumed in Feb from a 126 day spell in a G3, making some late headway, and we fancied her to improve 23 days ago at Canberra and she duly obliged with a nice finish from the back, suggesting more to come. Up in grade here but with McEvoy back up top (3:1-2) and up to 1500m she’ll be right around the mark at $5.50.

Rosehill R9

Resumed a month ago needing the run, but did little in the G2 17 days ago. Fitter now, D Lane a positive booking and has success at the T&D. EW at $19.

Set The Sails

Mackay R3

Not a great strike rate, and he needed the resuming run 10 days ago but was only two lengths off. His win came second-up and he can take this small field out as $3.60 second fav.

Spring Valley

Backmarker resuming and has placed 3 from 6 first-up. Placed in all three at the distance, this might be a touch short unless she can muster early, $18 shot.

Guerite, La Pleine Lune

Geelong R7

These two finished first and second on their débuts last May, LPL winning that one, but Guerite has pushed on the better of the two, and he flashed home for third on resuming 14 days ago earning a next-time tag. Fred sticks and fancy she can make amends here in this small field as $3.80 second fav. LPL might need the run but can feature, $4.80 here.

Improved with his three runs this prep at big odds, can feature here at $7 in a very open betting event if he sits closer in the run.
