He was trucking along OK until his run a month ago at Townsville where he ran a very ordinary last of sixteen. Better than that, got the firm footing he likes and back to the mile a week ago, and he landed in a nice spot but couldn’t go on with it, but ran an improved fifth. Back to the 1200m and if he gets away well again, he can threaten in this at $6 in a small field.

WYO noted on debut with a huge finish before winning next up. Not so flash since but generally thereabouts. Trialled up nicely for his return with the new barn and they had him a $2.40 fav, but he just needed the run, finishing a close fourth. Fitter and up to his fav distance and going, he ran a fast-finishing second a month ago, and though well-beaten by the fav, he had the rest well covered, and we marked him up as a next-timer. Fancied him to win at Nowra 13 days ago, but a bit underwhelming, gets the jockey upgrade here, back to CL1 and can make amends as $2.25 fav.

KB is also on the week’s back-up after a fifth but she’s going to other way, from 1200m up to 1435m. She’s a consistent sort, placed five from seven on soft and has shown the bulk of her form at this track. Boudvillain jumps ship to WYO in this but L Day is placed on her only ride on her, EW shot at $7.
