We thought the heavy going might be one-hit wonder Sting Jet’s undoing yesterday, and she clearly struggled with it, stuck back in the run and failing to find anything in the run-in. One for next time on better ground…
OK, three from the book today at odds of $10, $18 and $26, but all with claims, so it’s an EW trixie today…

She’s a former Kiwi who racked up five good starts in NZ before heading to Aussie. Trialled well over there but yet to produce on raceday but has a couple of things in her favour today, dropping back to the easier grade, back to her fav distance, and more importantly, back on heavy where she’s 3:1-1, and only one of two horses in this race that has won in the slop. Jockey is one of the Osmonds (should be used to riding crazy horses!) and she’s a real sleeper today at $18.

Another ex-Kiwi, produced the finishing burst we know he has when he won three back for us at BM58 before finding the higher grade a bit too much. Back to the BM58 today, $10 on offer, watch for him late in this!

She went in the book breaking her maiden in August 2022, with a huge finish at Pak, after a series of nice placings. However, she’d hardly risen to that height since, though she placed a couple of times first up. Came out at Mackay 2 months back, the extra 300m proving suitable as she rounded ‘em up from last to win by 2.5 lengths. Not too far in the next two, up to the 1400m will help, another one to watch for late and a chance at $26…
