Drifted in the betting but still won as fav by nearly 5 lengths from the front and rates a good chance to repeat at $4.80/$1.95

BELCLARE, CHOKITO

Belclare powered home at Awapuni eleven days ago to finish just behind today’s fav. Rises in class here and despite being a bit inconsistent is a chance in this at $7. Chokito however is pretty consistent, and got up for us two weeks ago at Gore. Up in class, but has won here three times, is 2/3 third up and has won at Listed level. The $31 on offer look very generous…

SAVVY MAN, TELLING TALES

These two don’t win out of turn, but, again, in with a chance at some big odds ($15 and $41 respectively) and can spice up exotics.

COSMIC RHAPSODY
Bendigo, 7
He’s got some nice stats for this, and finished well on resumption at SP $26 for third. Yendall sticks, and he’s a chance as second fav in this at $7.

Impressive winning two in a row in Feb/March this year but hasn’t approached that form in several runs since, and b=needed the run first up two weeks back here. However, back up to his fav distance, has won second up, and jockey Micky Dee is 1/1 onboard. Outsider’s chance at $21

Backed into fav on debut at Sale and duly won from the front. Generally not been too far off, and was a good fourth last time out at Ballarat. Gets back but is capable of a good late finish, so the extra 200m should suit today, EW shot at $9.

Very consistent of late, winning or placing for us in 6 out of 8 runs, though would probably prefer a wetter track. Looks a solid EW bet at $6.

Done little in two runs this prep, so how in the heck is he top weight in this race against clearly better horses? Interest bet only at $61…
