One from three…
One winner from our three picks yesterday, Kermantic (8 unit win) maintaining a strong gallop to fend off the other fav, paying $2.50 for the win.
Ten from the book on Hump Day, and some good prospects…
Ten on Hump Day…
FIVE SCHILLINGS
Avondale JC, 10
Back after a spell but had been getting closer on the synthetic at Cambridge before that. Doesn’t mind it heavy, but this could be a bit on the short side for her, and hasn’t won this way round in five goes. $9 on offer.

FIGHTING ARROW
Sandown, 4
Breezed in my 7 lengths in October last year then followed up with two more wins for us before heading to the paddock for 7 months. Another resuming over a shorter distance, but down in grade, so could represent some value as the $21 outsider in this field…

CAUSE FOR CONCERN
Sandown, 5
Backed in on debut at Bendigo, he settled midfield and belied his name by bolting in by nearly three lengths. Obviously up in grade, and slightly in distance, but with that race under his belt, he’s backable at $6.

MARKWELL DREAMER
Warwick Farm, 5
Got up for us three races ago, and backed it up with a couple of close thirds. Drops slightly in grade, and a chance at $14.

TIDAL IMPACT
Warwick Farm, 6
She ticks a lot of boxes stat-wise and has won third up previously. Another down in grade and backable EW at $6.50

COOL LAD
Warwick Farm, 7
Yet another class-dropper who’s been finishing his races off well recently, look for him late in this, $7.50 at the mo.

EFFORTKAT
Balaklava Racing Club, 3
Spruiked and backed last time out and duly saluted for us at Port Lincoln. Crowther sticks, and another good EW chance in this.

EAGLELOU
Balaklava Racing Club, 5
Noted with a nice burst to win in June then ran a couple of close thirds at around $6 SP for us, one on the city, before having a spell for 4 months. Back today, is a first up winner and can take this out at $4 if ready…

TYCOON HALLIE
Doomben, 7
We spruiked up her chances away from the heavy track last time out and she obliged at $3.50. She’s a back-runner who will be finishing hard over the top of these, and though up in grade a touch, can add to that victory at $6.50.

SIR SIMON
Launceston, 7
Has struck some form for us in the last four races, including a couple of wins and a close second on the mainland in the Coleraine Cup. Returns to his home track, front-runner who’ll be hard to run down in a small but even betting race at $3.
