One winner and one hit the wall!
What a ride on Bifrost (10 unit win), we called it, down in grade, but once he got the gap it was goodnight nurse at $2.50!
And Palencia was a good thing beaten, held up not once but three times in the straight, a certain next-timer for us…

Fully expected her to win last time out, but she was ridden upside down instead of her usual backmarker style. Down further in grade today, gets Mertens up top, think she wins as $2.60 fav from the back…

Gave us a nice surprise last time out, getting up at $17 for us! She’s $21 today and up in grade, so a small win bet…

Hard to catch but last run much improved. Drop sin grade a touch, so a small EW bet here.

MAKTASTIC, DESERT PETARD
Ascot, 7
Makbeel’s distant half-sibling resumed two weeks back after a six month spell and trialling, and ran an eye-catching second his third second in a row…. Good place form (10 from 22) and this looks like the day for win number two as $4.20 fav. DP ran into a wall of horses last time out, ans was marked as next-time, so include as a $15 shot.
BET: Back both 5 units ew, exotics…
GALENUS, FIVEFINGERDISCOUNT
Launceston, 6
Galenus has great T&D stats for this, in fact good stats all round, which are not reflected in his recent form… Keep him safe, $10 shot. FFD won for us in August at an outrageous $41, and also has good stats for this, ditto on recent runs, but he’s a $41 shot here, and will need to pick his game up…
BET: Galenus 3 units ew, FFD 2 units ew, chuck ‘em in the exotics…
THE INEVITABLE, SIR SIMON
Launceston, 7
Hard to see the little fella beaten as a $118 odds-on fav here as he tunes up for the All Star Mile next month… Sell both farms, 18% in 90 seconds, better than the bank… SS will be on the bunny and sports good stats for this, but hard to see him as more than a placegetter…
BET: TI 10 unit win if you wanna buy some money, SS in the exotics if you think it’s worth it…

Mount Gambier, 6
Two wins in the past three see him as $4.20 second fav here, murdered ‘em in early Jan, then won again three weeks ago. Up in grade today, but these don’t look a tough lot…
