Race 4: ROYAL FOX caught our eye in November, ran a bit green but finished nicely to win by 2.5 lengths. Subsequently ran well at Flem, not so well at Caulfield, but drops in grade today and steps up to the mile. Gets Zahra onboard and could be the day’s sleeper at $19…

Race 8: VARDANI and JESTA DREAMER both in this one. Vardani is the ex-French galloper who won as expected for us two back after a good run prior to that. Ran fourth at Flem on NY Day at SP $11 after being hampered at the start, and flew home from last to finished 1.7 lengths behind the winner. Must go in again today at $6.50. Jesta Dreama is so consistent, also a close-up fourth last time out a week ago at headquarters at an SP of $41. A chance at $19…

Race 7: TYCOONS HALLIE’s racing pattern indicates that she’ll appreciate the rise back to 1500m here today. Fast-finishing second at Beaumont on Boxing Day and was due out last week at an abandoned meeting. Will run fav today at $2 or so, and looks the winner.

LAUNCESTON
Race 6: MOSHAMA won at Hobart two back but didn’t follow up a month later. Can bounce back today at $12.
