Two nice placings at odds…

Couldn’t supply a winner yesterday, despite both Bit Nosy and Damreel trying to steal the race but caught late, but we did find a couple of tasty place bets…

Scenic Rim (5 units ew) was a big drifter in the market but got up for second at $3.90 the place, while Skipping Girl (4 units ew) ran third at $2.40 the place.

Noted hanging tough to win back in Jan at Gore, then ran three more places and a win for us then went for a six month break. Returned two weeks ago at Wingatui needing the run, but has potential, having placed here 3 out of 4. Fav jockey, fav distance, chance at $9 in an open betting race…

Noted winning well in June, than ran two plain ones before two thirds for us at decent odds. Fancied her last week but got abandoned, and she fronts up today as one of the co-favs at $7, Drawn out but it’s over a mile, so shouldn’t matter too much. Fav jockey and distance again.

BALTIC COAST

Rosehill, 4

Got up in a brilliant driving finish in May, has nice stats for this including first-up form. Trialled in September after 5 months off and won, can win this if ready at $6.50.

TIDAL RUSH, INDIFFERENCE

Rosehill, 6

TR got up for us by nearly 3 lengths late last month, and has won two of his last three. Up in grade but very consistent and down in the weights. $6.50 on offer. Indifference got up impressively in June but plain since, needs to improve, but a chance at $11.

Rosehill, 7

Bit inconsistent, and will find these a bit too tough, interest bet at $15.

Been going OK in lower grades, but another that will find the opposition a bit too tasty at $34

SMOKIN’ VAL

Morphettville, 5

I like this mare, she’s returned in good order, running a fourth and a second here and is building towards another win, which could be today. $5.50 on offer and very much a chance.
