Some more posts hit…
One scratching left us with five yesterday, resulting in three placings. Russley Crown was the pick of them, (3 units ew) running second at a tasty $4.30, Giverherago (3 units ew) third at $1.90, and Abb Roy also third , but no dividend.
A mixed bag of five tips from today’s book…
Five for Tuesday… maybe a go on the late Mornington qadi…
TANTRUMS
Mornington, 5
Former Kiwi who ran a fast-finishing second on debut in Aus in Jan. Next run was up to BM64 under Mott, where she did little, but next run was another fast-finish at Ararat where she just missed. Back to BM58 and Mott re-united, and she’ll be a threat in this as a $4.40 second fav, will need to be good to get past this odds-on fav.
BET: 6 unit win
CHARLIE’S TIN
Mornington, 7
Big class dropper today, and gets to his fav distance. Has been going well this prep and ready to strike at a very juicy $13.
BET: 4 units ew
MANHATTAN FORCE, STORM DE LUNE
Mornington, 8
MF back in an easier grade, where he’s won and placed in his last two, chance as a $3 shot in an even betting race. SDL went in the book 18 months ago on debut with a big finish from the back and marked as a next-timer. Duly obliged, but subsequent runs have been well below those runs. Resumes today after a 10 month break and is hard to gauge, so maybe an interest EW bet.
BET: MF 5 unit win, SDL 2 units ew, exotics
ALF’S MAGIC
Ballina, 1
After a promising start to his career, he’s had just the one place in eight subsequent runs. He dropped away quickly in his last run at Coffs, but gets back 400m to his best distance, drops a touch in grade, and more importantly gets fav jockey Benny Looker back onboard, which gives him a chance in this small field at $5.
BET: 6 unit win
