Aeecee Dolce and Just Johnno run first and second for us, $7.30/$1.90 for the winner, $7.70 for the quinella, and $85.60 for the trifecta…
Zou Zou Kacanarkis made no mistake, putting them away efficiently at a juicy $8.10/$3.10, and providing the basis for a nice $424 trifecta, which we took advantage of… Sertin ran an improved race, next time for him…
Wild Rocket was near the back of the pack, and made a huge move mid-race to get them all off the bit, couldn’t quite hang on, but provided a $3.50 second placing.
Those three provided a nice result for our place treble!
Ten from the book on a busier-than-usual Tuesday, and some good prospects today…

ROCKHAMPTON
Race 4: AERIAL COMBAT sports some nice stats, so don’t ignore him in this small field at $17, even though his recent from doesn’t read so well. Up against another strong t&d runner in the fav, but things can happen in these small fields…
BET: 3 unit win
Race 7: FORTIFIED looks a real threat in this, despite being off course for nearly 4 months. Form was good apart from his last run, where the heavy ground didn’t do him any favours, prior to that he barely missed a place in higher grades than this. Had a hit-out last week, he’ll be a threat today in this small but open betting affair at $4.60
BET: 6 unit win
Race 8: BLUE JACKET went in the book this time last year with a fast-finishing second, then gave us a win at odds-on, plus a couple of placings at the $12 mark. Pengelly sticks for Dad Phil, tidy stats for this, and he’s a shot in this at $7 down in grade…

MOREE
Race 5: FOX SPIRIT is getting plenty of track time recently, but is struggling to make an impact. Not sure why they chuck her into open class today, not a lot to recommend her, so interest bet only as $41 rank outsider.
BET: 2 units ew
Race 7: In a similar vein is STAREMM, apart from that $81 second five runs back, she’s looking very one-paced. Will need some improvement to figure at $10.

BALLARAT
Race 5: VAHASH went in the book on his last win almost a year ago, has run a couple of places since but is better than that. Gets a significant upgrade in jockey by way of the in-form Billy Egan, and he’s a live chance in this at $8…
BET: 4 units ew
Race 6: MR MISCHIEF ran a SP $13 second for us two weeks back, hops up in grade today but sports some reasonable stats for this. Looks a real ew chance at $10.
BET: 3 units ew
Race 7: ZIAVERA has stuck from early this prep, and with the Meech/Maher & Eustace combo in action looks very hard to topple in this one. $1.85 says the market agrees, so do the stats… We’ve also got FASHION AVENUE returning in this after a 5 month spell, she’s got a good first up record and can place here, and add to the exotics.

WYONG
Race 6: ALLUSIONIST was back in like a good ‘un at Nowra in Feb, and duly obliged, then ran a very close fourth up in grade at Goulburn a couple of week later. Spelled for nearly 5 months, he’s trialled twice recently, winning the last one at Randwick. Gets Hughie up, can win this at $3.40
