Just four from the book yesterday, no winner, but some encouraging runs from our tips…

Kermantic screamed home for a close third (no dividend), suggesting we keep on eye on him next time out.

Mirror One was a well-beaten second ($1.40) to add to his string of placings, but we’ll be looking for the big colt to start hitting the winners’ circle soon…

And Staremm was in it a long way and finished well for a very close third at $9.20 the place.

On a quick 10 day back-up after running a close third at Murtoa last week,  and the booking of McDougall suggest they might fancy her in this. $7 in a small field, watch for her late.

Watched this mare finally fulfil some earlier promise by romping home at Mt Gambier this time last month by nearly 10 lengths to clear maiden ranks. Likes it a bit wet,and now the penny’s dropped, she can go on with it here as $3.60 fav.

COOL LAD 

Newcastle, 7

Racked up two impressive wins back in January and has running in better grades than this, and rarely far away… Denied a couple of starts recently but is well-placed today to take this out back in BM68. Has won on heavy, will go round at about $4.20 in a close betting race…

BET: 6 unit win

GENJIRO 

Goulburn, 4

Noted getting home well late at Cowra back in March, after a nice run of form that had him in the frame four times in a row, then finished seventh at Goulburn before heading to the paddock for 6 months. Resumed at Canberra last month and did little, may be fitter but the 1400m looks a bit short for him. Outsider’s chance at $13.
