Race 9: BRILLIANT MIND and FOCUS contest this one. BM failed under the heavy track conditions here last time out as fav, doesn’t like it too wet and gets Pikey onboard today for a massive plus. Picking he goes close today down in grade, hadn’t missed a top four in 17 runs prior to the last race. $6.50/$2.50 on offer. Focus also sports some nice stats, especially this t&d and is rarely far away. Another one who’ll be finishing well late on. $8.50 on offer.
BET: I’d back both, 4 units ew, and include in exotics in an open event.

GRANGE
Race 3: TYCOON HALLIE is back up after nearly 5 months in the paddock, good record first up, though usually races over further. Get T Berry up top, has run a few close-up placings for us, usually well-backed. Chance in this small field at $4.60…
BET: 5 unit win
Race 6: ALLUSIONIST ran a close third from the back for us on resumption for the Freedman yard last month well-supported, and should roll out today as fav again. Has handy second-up form, and R King leaves the second fav to ride this. $2.70, should win…
BET: 10 unit win
Race 8: REMUS flew home on his return from 4 months off to run fifth last month, and has a good second-up record also. Had been running in higher grades last prep, and could figure in this at $11.
BET: 3 units ew

HARBOUR
Race 7: TARA JASMINE hit a rich vein of form last spring, winning 4 out of 5, then moved up the grades without the same success. Her last run was more encouraging, and the $23 looks a tad generous, though she’ll need to go well to beat this fav.
BET: 2 units ew, exotics with Hosier
PINJARRA
Race 5: MISS INTENTION is a 17 race maiden who ran a $41 third for us here last month. Her race pattern will have her finishing over to top late on, so the extra 200m today should be to her advantage. Very strong ew chance at $5.50/$2.20
