Painted Black was noted winning in great style back in December, admittedly hadn’t done a lot since, but he’s there in the book, and obliged at OUTRAGEOUS odds yesterday! Our previous best was a $43 winner, but this is next level!!
Add to that Dr Copper, second paying $6 the place, a fantastic front-running exhibition by Cyclone Sally to win at $4, and a superb sustained finish from the back by Main Engine to cruise home at $3.70…
Just what a day’s betting should be, and we certainly recouped some folding yesterday!

Race 7: REAL GUN can be a bit hard to catch, but did run second for us at SP $17 in May, then ran third earlier this month at Echuca at shorter odds. Stats are tidy for this, he’s running into form should run a place at least at $7.50.

Race 9: GHOST DOCTOR has given us scant return in the year he’s been in the book, has his fair share of convictions, but just may be running into a bit of form. Happy in the heavy going, he’s an ew shot at $11.

IPSWICH
Race 9: LEAVE ME ALONG sports just the one win after 16 runs, but he’s never far away. Ran a SP $17 third for us two back, and does appreciate the soft tracks.

MURWILLUMBAH
Race 5: GEM OF THE LOCHS needed the run first up, has good second up stats, watch for the grey mare late, has won for us at $21…

NORTHAM
Race 4: MISS INTENTION is a 15 race maiden, noted finishing well for second last October but hasn’t pushed on. Interest at $41…
BET: 2 units ew
Race 8: ZOUDINI went in the book this time last year with a nice win onpace, then did nothing until re-appearing after a break in Jan this year to get up at $14 for us. Subsequent runs have had him close up, with the last two a fast-finishing 4th and 5th from dead last. Fav jockey sticks, he drops to the 1100m today, so don’t want him too far off the pace, but watch for him late. Second fav at $5/$2.
