Race 5: CAPELLA  was tidy on her return to Oz from Japan last August, then won by 6.5 lengths for us at Moe in Sept at $4, before a couple of runs up in class and weights before heading for the paddock for 5 months. Resumes today over a more suitable distance, and get some of this in a small field at $9…

Race 6: TYDEUS  ran a close second for us on resumption, that run will have brought him on somewhat as he strives to regain his early career form. OK stats for this, and looks the winner with the scratching of Blood Oath. $3.50 on offer in a small but competitive betting race.

Race 5: We’ve been waiting for the return of a PATENTED  since December, where he ran dead last at Doomben at the end of a pretty good prep. He showed massive pace to win June, (see link) and rewarded us subsequently with three wins and two placings before that rise in class in his final run. Good stats all round, though I suspect doesn’t want it too soft underfoot, but great distance and first-up records make him today’s sleeper at $10…
