Has only had one unsuccessful crack at the mile, but does love it here (4:2-1) and is happy in this going. $3.80 on offer, and she looks at good chance if she can get the mile…

ASCOT PARK

Race 5: THE GIFT  and GIVEHERAGO  contest this one for us. The former was tough winning at Wingatui in October, but failed to reproduce that in subsequent runs before heading to the paddock for almost 3 months. Returns today down in class, but has no form first up, may need this despite fav at $3.70.

Giverherago won on her debut but had to wait until run number twelve to repeat, winning at Gore three weeks back after being backed in and go close again today at $5.50. Close betting race, include both in exotics.

PAKENHAM

Race 8: VILANCULOS  was noted with a nice win in August as fav at Bendigo before failing at the same track 2 weeks later. Went to the paddock and returns today up in grade as a $19 shot. Might need the run but has placed previously first up.

KILMORE

Race 8: FASHION AVENUE  won well in October, and despite being on-pace in her subsequent races, she’s dropped away at the finish each time. She’s might find this a touch easier than Flemington, and gets the blinkers today, which may be the catalyst, $7.50 on offer.

ALBANY

Race 4: WESTERN KING  got closer last time, but the $41 on offer with 365 reflects his chances today, but note that he did win at this meeting in the equivalent event one year ago.

Race 5: SILVER BO  was a fast finisher in June, came back late last month to run fourth at odds and does have a good second up record.

BET: 2 units ew

GATTON

Race 9: ABB ROY  must be one fit mare, she’s up again from 3 days ago, where she actually ran a creditable fourth at Warwick less than a length from the winner. Up in grade, but is this the day she repays our faith? $34 on 365…

BET: 2 units ew, and I’m gonna anchor her for the win in the trifecta, gut feeling!
