OK, let’s just list our successes from yesterday, and boy did we find some good ‘uns!!

Rustic Steel ($6.40)

Miss Mecca ($3.20)

Mankayan ($15.00)

Castle Bay ($9.70)

PLACES, place prices:

Amberecho ($1.40)

Clemenceau ($1.10, beaten by a $61 shot!)

Tadweer ($2.40)

That’s a 20% winning strike rate, and a 44% place strike rate!

Six of the best from the book today, featuring some more roughies.

MUDGEE

Race 7: FOX SPIRIT  might not relish the heavy ground, has won on soft though. Bit hard to catch but has place two out of last three, and while up in grade, could spice up the exotics at $19…

BET: 2 units ew

SUNSHINE COAST

Race 7: LEAVE ME ALONG  went in the book back in August with a huge run from the back to win by 2.3 lengths here to clear maidens. Next runs weren’t too bad before heading to the paddock for 6 months. Won a trial under a hold, which suggests he’s forward enough to be a factor in this, and backable ew at $6.50.

BET: 4 units ew

Race 8: CORAJILLO  run a class record last June, then threw in a $15 win for us in August, but the intervening runs have not been anywhere near as good. $71 on offer (bet365)

BET: 2 units ew

NOWRA

Race 6: MANDALORIAN  had run two thirds for us at nice odds ($17 and $11), before not showing up in his last race at Canterbury. Only won the once, but has a decent place strike rate at this distance, could get up in this small and evenly-priced field at $4.60.

BET: 5 unit win

NARACOORTE

Race 5: NATIVE BLUE  is another one who spaces out his wins (3 from 17 to date) and throws in the occasional placing. Went in the book last July, and has since provided a couple of wins at the $8 mark. Has been running at distances between 1600m and 2500m, but drops back to 1430m today, which could be significant for this on-pacer. Returning from a spell today, and if he can get up from early, could give them something to catch. $15 on offer…

BET: 3 units ew

HOBART

Race 7: SIR SIMON  was a well-fancied fav last time out here on his return, but faded in the run after leading. Has second-up credentials on a track and distance he loves, so can atone here today at $4, but will need to get past the well rated fav in Hela.

BET: 5 unit win, 10 unit quinella these two
