A busy 19 tip Sunday from the book today with a few double-ups in a couple of races, and a fascinating meeting at Sandown, where we have tips in eight of the nine races…

ROSBERG
Tauranga, 4
Only one win on the board from ten runs, but it was here… Drops a touch in grade, but up in distance, unproven on heavy. $5 in a very open race…

JACK IN THE BOX
Tauranga, 6
Still unplaced in nine runs, but get the feeling he’s closing in on a placing at least. Gets a senior rider onboard, $12 on offer.

CAP DE JOIE, SAVONIA, MISS JENNIFER
Sandown, 1
Tough one, as these three have very good form coming into this. CDJ is two from two in Aussie after a couple of runs in Ireland. Olly sticks, and that makes her a viable fav at $3.40. Savonia ($10) is also 2/2 this prep and is also tracking the right way. MJ ($16) is 2/3 in her career and returned with a last to first burst at Sale two weeks back.
BET: CDJ 8 unit win, 3 units ew the other two. Exotics
VARDANI, NIGHT PASSAGE
Sandown, 2
Has won four times for us since coming over from France. Resumes here down in class, has won in higher grade, has won first up, so the $101 on offer (365) defies logic, though this will be short of his best distance. Nevertheless, worth ew money. Night Passage racked up three on the trot last prep, but has been a bit plain this prep. Likes the distance and gets Jonny Allen onboard, ew chance at $34.

GROOVY KINDA LOVE, THE AWESOME SON
Sandown, 3
Was OK resuming at Caulfield, and will be fitter. Blinkers go on, as does Nolen, if she settles close she can finish over the top of these as $4.20 fav in this close betting race. TAS hit some good form last prep, but only has a second to show this campaign, J Allen on this one two, and only looks an ew shot here at $26.
BET: GKL 5 units ew, TAS 2 units ew
COUNTTHEHEADLIGHTS
Sandown, 4
Won on de=but at the Valley but has been unremarkable in four runs since. Mr Allen also onboard… EW at $15.

BERMADEZ, REGAL LION
Sandown, 5
Bermadez failed for the first time first up at Flem two weeks back, will be fitter for that, and Olly back onboard is a big plus. This a good race, but I think he can win this back in Open company, $4.2o/$1.95 makes him backable ew. RL was spruiked up this time last year, then won for us in November. Couple of nice placings for us since (SP $21 & $41), but need the race on resumption three weeks ago. EW at $31.
BET: Bermadez 5 units ew, 10 unit win if the money comes… RL 2 units ew.
WANGO AWARD
Sandown, 6
Fast-finishing runner-up to Honeycup on debut, and wasn’t that far off here 11 days ago. Mertens jumps on, and $126 looks generous…

I’M THUNDERSTRUCK

Good race, and hard to knock Zaaki, but our lad has a chance. Close betting race, and hard off winning the Makybe, he’s a $2.90 shot.

PINSTRIPED

He powered home from near-last two weeks ago in the Listed Sofitel at Flem on resumption, and the extra 100m will suit. Real chance in another very good race at $4.20/$1.85

THE MOVE
Sunshine Coast Turf Club, 2
Has form at the T&D and drops in grade today from G3, will run close to fav and is a real chance here at $2.80.

CHILE CHILE
Bathurst Thoroughbred Racing, 2
Produced blistering finish to break maidens two back before two ordinary ones… Gets out to 1800m here and can run a place here at $19.

FOX SPIRIT
Bathurst, 6
Spaces her wins out somewhat, got up for us two back at $11. Hard to recommend here other than a token interest bet at $51, heavy not her track at all (0:5).

Similar story with this mare, been a but plain this prep, but does return to her fav distance (3:2-0) and has form on soft. $26 on offer.
