Caught the eye when spruiked up last December to win at odds at Otaki, but she’s done little since… Drops in grade but will run as rank outsider at $51. Interest bet.

ESTABLISHMENT 

Trentham, 6

Won by over 8 lengths in early July, before another 4 length win for us three weeks later. Well beaten at Waverley before a close up sixth at Hawera last time out, can get a piece of this at $12.

BALALAIKA , SAPPORO, SEA MONARCH

Trentham, 9

We have three in this, with the first two more likely to figure, but all three failing in their last run. Balalaika ran two close seconds for us before running down the track at Matamata, similar story with Sapporo, who didn’t handle the heavy ground at Hastings. They sit around the $10 mark, watch for them both late… Sea Monarch is at $21, and despite running a close second for us at Woodville three back, has done little since his gritty win at Awapuni last December.

ROMANIA

We saw Froggy kick this fella home back in December, but apart from a third at Sale in July, he kept us waiting until August for a close second at Moe before finally saluting again for us at the same track last month. Steps up in grade, Newitt sticks, and he’ll run close to fav in a very open betting race and will try and run the legs off them from the front. $4.40/$1.75 on offer.

Sale, 7

Has rewarded us well for following him since his debut win three years ago, saluting another five times for us plus three placings from his 15 runs, including a last start second to Regal Lion. Will run fav in the Sale Cup today, around $3 available now, think he can win this, Olly sticks.

JOLTIN’ JOE

Memorably won for us at $21 in December last year, and has run a few nice placings for us since. Came back at Mornington early this month after a six month lay-off, needing the run, and has placed twice second up, so he’s a shot at $19 if they settle him a bit closer in the run…

WORLD CHARMER 

Sunshine Coast, 7

Spruiked up back in July and duly bolted in. Done little in four runs since, but is back up to her preferred distance here and switches to the synthetic. Generally on pace, and may hold on for a place at $13.

Northam, 1

Finished powerfully from the back on resumption to run a close second for us at SP $9 three weeks back. Only missed a placing twice in her last nine attempts to break her maiden status, and her stats suggest this might be the day she does it. Small field and a close betting race, she’s at $5.50 right now.
