Tough day, but we found a couple of nice winners in Flag of Honour fulfilling his debut promise and getting home by a neck over the hotpot fav at $6.60/$2 (5 units ew).
And at Ruakaka, Oseleta led them a merry dance, won by a couple of lengths easing up at $10.50/$3.30.
Can’t believe our Best Bet Mankayan was left to make his run so late, good thing beaten in my eyes, the other second for us being Francesco Guardi.
Couple of fourths in Maktastic and Morean, but a bit lean otherwise, but that’s racing!
Five from the book today, with curiously similar form… I’ve tried a four horse place multi (leaving out the first one) we’ve been having some luck with nice priced placegetters, and the accumulator odds of 46-1 lets us in with a small punt and a possible big return…

Race 7: DUCHESS ADELE was noted a year ago, rallying well to win at Warwick Farm, but has done precious little to add to that… Does drop back to the grade she last placed in, and to her fav distance and fav going, but it looks like a small win wager in this small field at $7.50

PAKENHAM
Race 1: WAILUA was noted winning back in March with a last-to-first performance at Cranbourne. Makes his hurdle debut today at 2 miles, with 69.5 kgs in heavy going… Has won both times first up, but this might be a bridge (or fence) too far. EW at $9

MURTOA
Race 5: NATIVE BLUE is a long time between drinks, and again, it’s hard to enthuse too much about his chances, but he’s been put up as third fav at $6.50, so it’s a small ew bet today.

NARRANDERA
Race 5: OH NO MIKKI caught the eye last September with a fine burst to win at Bathhurst followed by a couple of placings, but little since. Drops a touch in grade today, and back to his fav distance, but again, small ew bet today at $21.

GRAFTON
Race 1: They’re certainly getting their money’s worth out of our $73 winner three back in PAINTED BLACK, this is his fifth run in three weeks, and he drops from BM85 to BM58 and bizarrely hops up to 3120m. Wouldn’t leave him out, again, ew at $5
