Race 4: THE AWESOME SON screamed home late to almost nab Fengarada on our 4 grand Wednesday a couple of weeks back, and the jump back up to 2000m, where he has a very good record, should suit today. $5/$2 means we can back him ew too…

Race 6: As I mentioned, I was disappointed in Froggy’s ride on HE’S OUR BONNEVAL last time at Caulfield. Was way too far back in the run, and after his superb Aussie debut two weeks earlier, I fully expected him to win but he screamed home for third when it was all over. the extra 200m should suit, and presumably Newitt has learned a lesson from last time… At $5.50/$2.05 we can back him ew.

Race 7: TEEWATERS ran a different race pattern last time out at Caulfield, winning beautifully by 3.5 lengths. Williams jumps off to ride Horrifying, but we get Coffey onboard, and confident he can boot him home with similar tactics… $2.90 fav at the mo…

Race 9: I watched FIRE simply cruise home two weeks ago, he’s bound for better things… He’ll go round as a clear fav here, I’d get on before he goes odds-on, and I’ll make him our BEST BET. Also going round in this is PIONEER RIVER, a very honest animal, who, at $19, can spice up the exotics…

RANDWICK

Race 10: GLITTERY ($5.50) couldn’t have been more impressive at Warwick Farm last time out, cruising up from last in a small field to win by 3.5 lengths. By the same token LADY BROOK ($9) sat on the pace here last time out before pushing out to get home for us at a nice $9.

TOWNSVILLE

Race 4: STAR STATUS was noted mid-June with a big run for third, and has won the next two for us at $8 and $4.50. Looking for the hattrick as he drops in grade here, backable ew at $4/$1.80

Race 10: Must admit I had to rub my eyes at this one… PALENCIA, running in the same class as last time when he won for us here at $4, is paying $16 today. Check this out: Never missed the frame here in 12 runs (12:6-6), never missed the frame at this distance (12:7-5), track & distance (11:6-5), jockey (1:1), soft (3:1-1), class (1:1), overall (15:7-6).
