Today’s Tips: Saturday 16th April 2022
As I said yesterday, Jesta Dreama is just so honest, patiently ridden by Duric and produced to won comfortably at $5.50/$2.20, such good value for the suggested 5 units ew…
Shame that Blood Oath and Galenus went down by short margins, robbing us of a decent Trixie…
27 from the book, let’s dive in!
TE RAPA
Race 7: TWO ILLICIT is up against a couple of good ‘uns, ew best.
BET: 2 units ew
HASTINGS
Race 6: Very open race, we’ve got three here in BELCLARE, JOHNY JOHNY and GOSPODIN, all backable ew and worth including in the exotics…
BET: 2 units ew
Race 7: AQUAOIR has run running on late, racking up three fourths in a row, maybe grab a place in another open betting event. $11 on offer.
BET: 2 units ew
Race 8: TIGHTLIGN got home from the front at Avondale two weeks ago, could use the same tactics to effect here, $6.
BET: 2 units ew
RIVERTON
Race 8: ASATHOUGHT is a bit hit and miss, but if the sequence hold then the winner of the Gore and Invercargill Cups can add the Riverton Cup to that. $7 in a very open betting field…
BET: 5 units ew
CAULFIELD
Race 1: SOCIAL CONSCIENCE was spruiked up on debut at Geelong three weeks back, and ran OK to finish third at SP $81. With a note to keep an eye on him, he’s up here again today, the $26 on offer would certainly spice up the exotics, and it’s a relatively thinly experienced field…
BET: 2 units ew
Race 2: We were a bit keen on DESTINATION when he returned from the paddock three weeks back, and he ran a close third at SP $13 for us. Craig Williams jumps onboard today, he’s juicy enough at $10, and he’ll need to be sharp to beat the unbeaten hotpot fav another of ours from the book in CLEMENCEAU, he’s back up after a great display on New Year’s Day, and looks like a horse going places, even against the older horses today at $1.95…
BET: C 10 unit win, D 5 units ew, exotics if you fancy…
Race 3: POINT NEPEAN gave thank a 5 length spanking last time out at Bendigo, leading all the way. Even drops in class for this, no reason to me why he won’t win again… $1.95 on offer.
BET: 10 unit win
Race 5: STAR OF CHAOS impressed back in August, and won twice again for before moving up the grades. Spelled in November and back today down in both grade and distance, but she’s generally on the pace and can get some of this at $8.
BET: 3 units ew
Race 7: ZAYYDANI gets back to her fav 2000m today after a tune-up at Bendigo two weeks back. She owes us nothing, having won at $9 and $12 in Nov for us. Great stats for this, and a bargain at $10. In the same race is TEEWATERS who resumed four weeks ago with a decent run at Flem, finishing off well, but gets back up to his range today. Has run two thirds for us (SP $31 and $17) since a win over Tigertiger in September, the last one at G1 behind Hitotsu. He’s being aimed at the SA Derby by all accounts, the $31 is interesting to say the least…
BET: Z 5 units ew, T 3 units ew, include both in exotics…
Race 8: I just love little BERMADEZ, another one back at his fav distance, and though racing here for the first time can get a piece of this after a first and second this prep. $10, and I’m all over him…
BET: 5 units ew
RANDWICK
Race 1: MARKWELL DREAMER caught the eye in January here with a nice burst from the back to get up for the win at $21. Not too far away in the next two and drops back a touch in class, watch for him late…
BET: 2 units ew
Race 2: CONTRIBUTINGFACTOR caught the eye then won for us in October. Back after a spell, two runs in haven’t been too bad, not too far off in the heavy last time out. $4 in another open betting race…
BET: 4 unit win
Race 3: STRAIGHT ARRAN was huge from the back two weeks ago,and the JMac/Waller combo look unstoppable here at $1.80. JALMARI and DEVIL RACER also feature, for exotics…
BET: 10 unit win SA
Race 4: FIREBURN ($1.40) looks a shoe-in after five straight victories, our other picks are there to make up the exotics, COUNTTHEHEADLIGHTS, LET’SROLLTHEDICE and SHE’S EXTREME
BET: 10 unit win Fireburn
Race 9: MALI STON is a Kiwi on debut in Auss, ran up four wins in a row before running third in a G1. Sam Weatherley makes the trip over, and he could surprise first up at $6.50
BET: 3 units ew
EAGLE FARM
Race 5: FESTIVAL PRINCE finished a close second two weeks back at SP $5 Fradd sticks and he’s got his hoof on the till at $2.40.
BET: 10 unit win
Race 7: DARK DESTROYER went in the book in October and has subsequently won a couple for us here in NZ at Group level. Makes Aussie debut today and if he’s ready after the 3 months or so away, he’s a shot in this at $7.
BET: 3 units ew
GOLD COAST
Race 9: LOCA cruised home at odds in October before failing at Ipswich and heading to the paddock for 5 months. Has trialled for his return, has won first up, chance at $6.
BET: 2 units ew
