LANEWAY FLIRTING, GEE STRING
Trentham, 2
LW was backed in in early December, and ran a nice second, attracting a next-time tag. She then ran a nice third over the 1400m, and reverting back to 1200m today will suit this front-runner nicely as $4.80/$1.90 fav. GS has had a couple of spells after showing some fine form in the middle of 2021. Returned two weeks ago after nearly nine months away with a close fourth, and has a handy second-up record. One for odds at $8.50

LADIES MAN, INMYSHADOW
Trentham, 7
LM spaces his wins out, and up against a good ‘un here, solid EW bets at $4.80/$2.00 as second fav. IMS has had some success for us this prep, including a win at $21 and a second two back at $17. Up in grade but can run a place at $16.
BET: LM 5 units ew, IMS 2 units ew, exotics.
AVALENE
Trentham, 9
Grinding win on debut but not sure she’s up to this class. $14 but worth on EW shot in an open betting affair.

CAPO DELL IMPERO
Wingatui, 6
Usually a back-marker, he ran on the pace last time out over his fav distance, running a close second at $12 for us. Good stats for this, will go close as $6.50 fav.

Nice win here for us on Boxing Day at $8, and fav to take this out, especially with these stats. $5/$2 on offer

THE BEST OF AUSSIE
FIGHTING ARROW, GONE WEST
Flemington, 3
FA two close seconds in his last two and worth another EW shot as $6 joint fav. GW needed the resuming run but goes round her as $61 outsider.

RIOYUKI
Flemington, 5
Finished well on resuming at the Bool two weeks ago, can figure in this at $10.

VESPERTINE
Flemington, 6
Only the two runs last prep before a couple of months in the paddock, but the last run at Listed level at this T&D was excellent, coming from near last to win at $8.50 for us. Jockey has had success aboard her and she’ll be hard to beat on her return today at around $5/$2.

Rosehill, 2
Has had a win and a second this prep, and although at the $18 mark, is capable of running a place here.

Looked good at recent trials coming back after 5 months away. Has won this T&D and McEvoy jumps back onboard, he’s 1:1 on him, and he’s a good EW bet at $5.50/$2.10

Noted jumping out fast on Boxing Day and ran them ragged to win nicely. Up in grade but worth an EW shot at $12.

KIBOSH, HASTY DUCHESS

McEvoy also on this mare (Kibosh), who resumes after more than a year. Has run first or second in all but her debut run, depends on whether she’s fit enough, but worth an EW at $5.50/$2.00. HD also back after a long spell, and will surely need the run at $26.

MARIAMIA, SUPER PURSUIT
Rosehill, 7
MM is another back after a spell, but does have stats for T&D and first-up, $9 on offer. SP has gone round at big odds on his two Aussie runs, and will do so again today at $19 or so.
BET: 2 unit win on each in the small field, exotics if you fancy it, but to be honest looks like a race in two for the two favs.
KING RATEL
Rosehill, 9
Going well this prep, second in this grade last time out. Back up to 2000m where he’s won before, watch for him late, $19 seems generous…

Rosehill, 10
Never far away and was good on resumption two weeks back. Up in grade today, but a chance at another generous price of $23.

UNASSAILABLE, BRAZEN BRECCIA, STELLAR POWER
Gold Coast Turf Club, 1
U is chasing her fourth straight win, and though up in grade can certainly figure in this as a $13 shot. The other two appear to be out of their depth in this at long odds.

Looks to be running into form with two close finishes in G2 and G3 races recently. The extra 200m will suit, watch for him late as $5 fav.

EOJ will run co-fav at $5 and has had an impressive career start. CB also impressive with 2 from 2 wins, and worth following at $21.

MS won with some style from the back 12 days ago, and must rate a chance on that at $5. EL has been consistent, and rates an EW go at $8.50

Kembla Grange, 6
Came from dead last on the turn at Beaumont on resumption and flew home to win by 2 lengths at big odds, suggesting that the extra 50m will not be an issue. Latham sticks, easy EW bet at $5.

Been in good form, winning two from the last three for us, and while up in grade, I’m giving her a shot in this at $17.
