Regal Lion (2 units ew) produced a fabulous turn of foot to head off our other pick Bermadez, who looked home and hosed with 50 to go, paying a juicy $41.90. If you hooked into the quinella, that paid $100, the trifecta was $7479 and the First Four a whopping $55,790!

This son of Smart Missile was noted here two weeks back. Flopped out the gates dead last and stuck on the fence, however once Buckley hooked him out wide and let him go, he raced home like a good ‘un, if a little greenly, to quickly put a length and a half on them. Jockey sticks, up in grade obviously, and the extra 200m looks as if it’ll suit, and natural, improvement should see him home in this at $3.50.
