WARNAMBOOL
Race 5: DONATIONÂ produced a nice turn of foot to win back in July before heading to the paddock for 8 months. Returned 3 weeks ago at Mt Gambier, where he finished off well for fourth, and steps up to the 1400m here today, which should suit. I think he could be the sleeper here today at $19 (365)…

Race 6: AEECEE DOLCE and CHARLIE’S TIN contest this one. AD followed up some promising runs with a win last time out at Ararat for us 10 days ago, and looks to have a great chance on the quick back-up. Steps up to the 2350m today, but did finish well from the back last time out, suggesting the extra distance should suit. $3.40 on offer… CT caught the eye two back with an all the way win at Werribee, but didn’t see it out. Place chance today.

CANBERRA
Race 3: OH NO MIKKIÂ was noted with a withering run to get up on the line at Moruya in September, then followed up for us at Bathurst two weeks later. Two close up placings were followed by 4 months in the paddock, returned last month with a fourth when well-backed at Wagga. Gets Pikey up top today and has won second up previously. He can get some of this at $7.

Race 6: COOL LADÂ is never far away and is usually well-supported in betting. Biggest test to date, and he runs as the rank outsider at the mo at $34. Capable of running a place…

Race 7: KING RATEL really blew the start last time out at Randwick, and even watching the replay (see link) I’m not expecting him to win, but he produces some finish to win it. Hugely up in grade for the Canberra Cup, $26 on offer, and has won at the track & distance. Extra distance shouldn’t be a problem…

MORPHETTVILLE
Race 2: PRANCE ‘N’ DANCE was gritty two back to win last month, then found them a bit tasty next up. Another one who’ll run rank outsider at $26, small win bet.
BET: 3 unit win
Race 7: TIGERTIGER owes us nothing, having only missed the frame for us once in 8 runs since going in the book. They’re all up in grade today for the Adelaide Cup, but we’ll stick with TT, strong chance at $5/$2 to at least place, the 2 miles being the unknown, but his racing pattern suggest he’ll cope.

Race 8: SET THE SAILSÂ came back from a long spell away, over 8 months, to run third for us in January before getting up at Pakenham for us a month ago. Another one up in distance for the Morphettville Guineas, and backable ew at $4.80/$1/90

Race 9: YOUNG JIMMY has been progressing through the grades, noted with an on-pace win in late December, and has go on to win his next three for us at $2.40, $5 and $14 before running eighth last time out, albeit less than 3 lengths away from the winner and blocked for a run twice on the run in when threatening, he was a good thing beaten… Even when he got out, he was flying home (see the reply below, race 7). He’s $7.50/$2.50, and that is value plus here today. With a clear win, he goes close…

Race 1: ROYAL SKY produced a super finish on the Sunny Coast last time out, powering home to win on the line. Now he’s got the idea, he can go on with it here in a small field at $2.80
