Today’s Tips: Friday 5th August 2022
Well that was so close!
We nearly pulled it off again in the get-out at Townsville, our tips Focus and Brilliant Mind finishing second and third ($2.50 and $2.40) by a lip to a $129 shot! We recommended 4 units ew, plus a go at the exotics, and had Focus prevailed, the tri would have paid about $4K… So close that I still think Focus got up!!
Elsewhere, Tommy Berry left Tycoon Hallie with way too much to do, she was screaming home and is one to watch.
So too Miss Intention, who ran a fast-finishing third at $2.40 the place (5 units ew) and is close to a win.
OK, three meetings in Aus already abandoned (Scone, Wangaratta and Canberra) leaving just the two… Let’s see if we can top up the coffers a little before the weekend with just two from the book…
TWO FOR FRIDAY…
BALLARAT
Race 7: ZIAVERA has been so good this prep, and has run 2-1-1 in her last three. Super slick under Linda Meech for Maher/Eustace last time out, cruising home at short odds here. Great stats, up in grade but drops 6kgs today, just about fav at $3.50, I think she’ll get home here…
BET: 10 unit win
IPSWICH
Race 3: LOCA was noted last October, cruising in at odds-on for an easy win at Grafton. He seems to lack a finishing burst, but should be fitter now, and down in grade he rates a chance as second fav today at $4.80.
BET: 5 unit win
