Bang! (again)

Just the three from the book yesterday, but boy did we bang one in!

WANGO AWARD

Pakenham Racing Club, 4

Finished strongly on debut to Honeycup in August before hopping up in grade to Listed company. We spruiked her up on resuming at Yarra three weeks ago, and she duly obliged by getting up right on the line at $4 to clear maidens. Denied a run last week at Cranbourne by the abandonment of that meeting but gets her chance today as a $7 shot. Stepping up to this grade but rates a real chance at odds.

We were spot-on in our assessment, and if you saw the race, she hit the front round the final bend to held them off with a tenacious finish, paying $5.90/$2.00, and if you anchored her to win the trifecta (as we did) you were rewarded with a $1000+ dividend…

Busy day today, meetings at Te Rapa and the Valley later tonight. 10 from the book, and some very good prospects for filling the wallet prior to the weekend!! Three hotpots and a few long odds roughies on offer…

Ten tips on a busy Friday…

JACK IN THE BOX

Te Rapa, 1

We’ve been following this lad since the middle of past year, and while he’s run a couple of places he’s still a 17 race maiden. Rarely far off the winner, and could be ready to break through today, Lynsey Satherley back onboard and will welcome a bit of give in the ground. Chance at $14.

TIDAL RUSH

Te Rapa, 6

Ditto on the maiden status of this mare in 15 races, has been there or thereabouts at odds recently, running in improved third for us last week at Matamata, jockey has placed two from two on her, and while she’s up in grade, she could run a place at $21 or so.

WAITAK

Te Rapa, 8

Noted steaming home late for the win in November here, then a similar run last month here to just miss in the Auckland Guineas. In-form Zackey jumps back on, and he’s a red-hot fav at $2.50. The 2000m should work in his favour, watch again for him late…

BET: 10 units win

ACQUIESCENT

Moonee Valley, 7

Well-backed on debut in August, the run from last to run second was huge, we’d been waiting for him to come back, and natural progression suggested that he’d win on resumption, and he did exactly that as hot fav, winning as he liked from the front this time and running great times for the meeting. Must go in again as $3.60 joint fav.

BET: 10 unit win

RUSSLEY CROWN

Randwick-Kensington, 6

Resumed after a spell two weeks back and was showing good form before the break. Needed the run but wasn’t far off. Good stats at the distance and Ford sticks, Likes the distance and has won on good going, chance here at $12.

NARITO

Randwick-Kensington, 7

Impressive on debut and has progressed well in subsequent runs. Third up today, and the JMac/Waller combo should be winning this as $2.30 fav.

BET: 10 unit win

FINGERTIPS

Townsville, 3

Had been very consistent up to his last two runs, doesn’t like it too wet, and gets back to his fav distance today. Not sure he gets past this hotpot fav, but one for multiples in the small field as the $51 outsider.

BET: 3 unit win, exotics with the fav

SUCH A WHIT

Townsville, 5

Spaces his wins out somewhat, and while he tends to finish on late, he’s a marginal prospect today at $23

SCENIC RIM

Sunshine Coast, 6

Pinched a $17 runaway win for us on resuming in October at Ipswich for us, and has run at odds since without threatening. Back in grade where he’s won before, EW prospect at $8 in this,

FOX SPIRIT

Walcha, 6

She throws us the odd win, generally up on the pace, but place looks best today as the $41 outsider.
