Race 5: STARRYBEEL looks good in this, down in grade and the last two runs have had much merit. Good stats at the distance and the 3kg claim brings him right into this at around $3.40.

Race 6: RIDGEVIEW CHIEF found the winner’s circle 9 dyas ago at Te Aroha, after a couple of disappointing runs, to score for us at a juicy $8.50. Up against a hot fav here today but capabvle of making the frame again, $6 on offer…

Race 7: GALENUS has good stats here, but then again so do a couple of others… He needed the run first up at Flem before Christmas after a 7 month layoff, and looks primed to win here, $2.60 at the mo…

Race 10: GREGORIAN CHANT is a persistent placegetter for us, but we need her to start putting some of these races to bed. Gets into a good position but has trouble finishing them off. Maybe the step up in distance will assist in this small field, but it’s a conservative win bet today.
