Dropping back in grade and back to fav distance may work for this lad. Gets Opie up top and rates well on form early this prep. $4.20 in a very open betting race…

Bit in and out formwise, but presents here as a well-supported $2.70 fav. Untried on softer ground, so a cautious win bet here…

Moonee Valley, 1
She’s racked up seven placing from her sixteen runs but has been at long odds the three runs this prep. Gets Stackhouse, but not sure it’s enough, $81 shot here.

ALLUSIONIST, GIRL MANIA
Canterbury, 8
We spruiked Allusionist on resumption two weeks ago, he went in the book this time last year winning his maiden at Nowra with ease and placed or won three more times and was very close up in all but one race before heading to the paddock for three months or so. Ran second in a trial the previous week and has placed second up previously. Back up to the BM72 here as a $12 shot, winning jockey sticks, and goes best when ridden on the pace. Girl Mania conversely drops in grade, and we’d be looking for her late as a $9 shot.
BET: Can back both 4 units ew, plus exotics.
TARA JASMINE
Grafton, 8
Resumed here after a three month spell three weeks ago as fav and ran a close fifth. Tremendous T&D stats here, indeed all stats are outstanding, should be hard to beat as $3.50 fav.

MT BULLER
Darwin, 1
Nearly a year since his last win, steps up to the 1300m but still an EW chance in this at $9.50.

ROYAL FOX
Colac, 4
Drops in grade to BM58 and gets Yendall up top. Last time that happened, he won, though does step up to the 2000m today as a $5.50 shot

This is his distance, but he’s not showing much at the moment. Could sneak a place at $9.50.
