Akka’s Meteor was so unlucky, losing by a lip, another stride and he was the winner, big watch on him next time out.
Aerial Combat had a stop-start run, and disappointed, running third.
Kashkar couldn’t match Ornate’s run, and finished midfield, but not a bad day!
Big day of racing on New Year’s Eve, with another night meeting at the Valley, plus seven other meetings in Aus, plus Hastings here in NZ.
Ten from the book, let’s see if we can end the year on a high!!
HASTINGS
Race 4: LONDON BOUND didn’t fire behind Bankers Choice at Te Rapa last time out, but hadn’t been too bad prior, especially with a dashing run at Cambridge in July. Kozzi hops on, and back on her fav going she can bounce back here at $9

Race 6: OVERSTAYER is certainly making us wait for his next win, running second here last month in the midst of some wildly different distance runs, back seemingly back to his fav track and distance today, and could be the surprise in this small field at $9…

MOONEE VALLEY
Race 6: LUNAR HERO jumps back up to BM64 after a nice win just 8 days ago at Wangaratta. Trainer spruiked him up there, and he’s been placed 3 out of 5 here. At 955m here at the Valley, you need to be an on-speed horse, which he generally is, and now he’s found the winning touch again, he can figure here.
BET: 3 units ew, 5 unit win if the money comes…
Race 7: JOLTIN’ JOE certainly doesn’t owe us any money, $21 winner two back, and running second paying $23 the place ($61 SP) last time out at Flem. No such odds today, he’s $4.40 at the mo, and he’ll be charging home late here, just hope he’s not too far back at the final bend.
BET: 5 units ew, 10 unit win if the money comes…
IPSWICH
Race 6: WINSTON BLUE gave us an all-the-way win two weeks back at Toowoomba, blowing ‘em away by 3.5 lengths. Not his usual racing pattern, and you’d have to stick with him today at $2.25 fav in a small field.
BET: 8 unit win
ECHUCA
Race 5: PERFECT WAR produced a huge burst from dead last to win at $101 in late Sept, then ran third at $17 before failing at her next three outings. Perennial slow starter, but is back to her fav distance, but you’ll need to be brave at $126…

MT BARKER
Race 5: BLAZING TYCOON and here we go again with Ms Corver onboard… I’ve been less than complimentary on her last two rides, seemingly getting the horse in poor positions and not giving him every chance… Hopefully she’ll remedy that today as she has won on him previously at this distance. An interesting watch today at $13.

NOWRA
Race 2: DAMREEL went to the paddock after catching the ye with a fast finishing third at Orange in October. Might just need the run today but worth an ew go at $23.

WARNAMBOOL
Race 5: SIXBYSIXTYTHREE steps back to BM70 where he had his third of three wins before jumping up to BM84 as fav at Flem. At $3.40, he looks to bounce back today.

PORT LINCOLN
Race 6: LUGA LAD is another long-shot we’ve had on the books for a while, generally gets back in his races but is capable of a big finish. Marginal shot today though at $34
