Once again, disappointed in where they had Night Hussler in the run, dead last, and just had no room to make his run as he powered home for a close fifth in a blanket finish… He’ll keep till next time.

TAUPO
Race 5: HABANA was spruiked on debut, finishing well, then ran a second at Cambridge and a nice win at Rotorua at the start of December. He’ll run fav today at around $2.50, a looks likely. Danger from Lisa…Â
BET: 8 unit win
ROCKHAMPTON
Race 3: AERIAL COMBAT finally returned to form after an impressive win in August last year when returning from 5 month spell in November, getting up for us here at $21. Followed up with another win under a big weight as fav a month later, and now he’s got his mojo back, he looks hard to beat again today at around even money. Up in grade, but can keep the run going in this small field. Sizzlepel the danger.
BET: 8 unit win. 10 unit quinella with the danger.
Race 6: KASINOVA KID was noted back in June here on debut, just ran out of puff to finish second. Same story second up then went to the paddock for 5 month, but has returned with a vengeance, winning two on the bounce. Progressing through the grades, and I don’t see anything here to stop his progress. ORNATE is also in here, noted with a fast-finishing fourth here three weeks back to the well-regarded Ahooshu (see link), and could supply some value in the exotics here at $12.

Race 7: KASHKAR has also run behind Ahooshu here on her return from a 4 month break. Won her first three earlier in the year and will be looking to bounce back to form in this.
BET: 3 units ew
WERRIBEE
Race 1: AKKA’S METEOR was noted in June with a huge run from near last on the Ballarat synthetic (see link), then ran fav but pulled up with issues. Back from a six month spell and his price of $4.40 suggests he’ll be ready for this. Cartwright sticks.
