Today’s Tips – 22nd Dec 2021
We were spot on with TIDAL RUSH yesterday, a fantastic ride from Grant Buckley to get him home by the smallest of margins at $8 or better!
Telling Tales ran a better race for third, and The Phantom Bantam looked very threatening at an SP of $101 and almost made the frame for us at $23 the place, finishing fourth by a long neck.
Just the three today on hump day, couple of faves and a sleeper…
My usual $10 Trixie, $40 gets you just short of $10K…
SANDOWN
Race 5: TIGERTIGER simply blew them away two weeks ago, winning by 5 lengths with a leg in the air. Same track, distance, going today, so why not go again? Change of jockey, but I think he’d win with me on his back!!
BET: 10 unit win
WARWICK FARM
Race 5: CLEAR BLONDE is not gonna jump out as a prospect today, but her run on 20th May (see below) that saw her denied by some bad luck on the run-in, where she screamed home for fourth, was some finish. Hasn’t been that far off since, and she’ll have needed that resuming up run at Canterbury 12 days ago after the 5 month break. OK with this distance, may prefer it a bit wetter under foot, but gets her fave jock back onboard. Today’s sleeper at $41… don’t discard…
BET: 3 units ew, will certainly spice up the exotics.
DEVONPORT
Race 7: SIR SIMON steps back in grade from Listed company in the Kilmore Cup last time out, and though sixth of seven, was only 1.7 lengths off the winner in a brave run. Back in grade today, he ticks plenty of boxes, only question being the synthetic, but he’s got 9 wins under his belt, the bulk of these in Tassie, and gets his fave local jock back onboard for this. Open betting race, but he’s capable of taking this out.
BET: 5 units ew if you get onboard now at $4.50/$1.90, 8 unit win if the money comes…
